What is Bag Full Of Wrong?

Bag Full Of Wrong started life as an idea for a site to keep a certain remakers non remake related projects upon. After some thrashing around, it occured to the fellow that despite the mass of freeware portals out there - there isn't really anywhere that maintains any quality control.

Eh?

The prime aim of Bag Full Of Wrong is to act as a portal for free games that gamers want to play. Nothing more, nothing less.

Does this mean that it'll be like Game Hippo, Caimen etc... ?

No! We're not a listing site for any old game on the internet - that niche is already more than served by thousands of sites. Our first 3 titles are exclusive to Bag Full Of Wrong and not found anywhere else on the net, and best of all - they're free, fun and fantastic - hence, the tagline.

Will you be trawling the net for games?

Nope! Not at all, as I say - we're not interested in merely being a listing site. We're not linking to stuff, we're not looking to link to stuff - we'll be hosting our own games on our own site in a portal style where you can see screenshots, a description, the usual bumph of downloads and a forum to discuss the games in if thats your want. Hopefully, if people like it - they'll want to contribute their own games to Bag Full Of Wrong, and eventually we'll build up a nice library of stuff.

Sounds interesting, what makes you so confident about it?

Easy! I love games, I love playing games and I want more games to do something a little different from the same old, same old that plagues the indie sector. For every original game, there's ten average breakout clones or tile matching games. We'd like to tip the balance back in favour of the gamers instead of what the portals or market forces decide. We won't demand compulsory mouse control, we won't demand fancy menu's, superb graphics - its all about gameplay, and most importantly free games. No time limited demo's, no try before you buy - full and free games that you'd want to play.

Will it be ad supported?

Not at all, no, never! The only costs for the site are the standard costs we pay for the server - and we don't believe in trying to get people to click through stuff, clogging up their browsers with rubbish or having hugely irrelevant ads. There'll be no ads, no spyware, no adware, nothing. Although we may add a paypal donate button to help towards the costs if we find ourselves hammered at any point, thats it though. Anyone even thinking of submitting a game thats riddled with ad or spyware can go elsewhere! We're not interested.

I've got a game I've written I'd love to get on your site!/I've an idea for a game I'd love to see on your site...

Then drop into our forum or mail us at wrongbag_at_bagfullofDONTSPAMMEwrong.co.uk removing the blatant and cunning attempt to foil the spammers. Remember, we're not after the greatest work of art - we just want to see more playable games and provide an easy point of access for them. The more slightly off kilter from the normal fodder you see, the better! Full credit remains yours and yours alone, there's no contracts to sign and the worst that can happen is a few more people play your game. We promise - we're only interested in providing an easy place where people can come see your game and play it, leaving feedback if they feel like it.

Will you take any game?

Nope, I'm afraid we're after quality not quantity. I'd sooner have 5 great games on the site than 100 rubbish ones. We'll playtest any submissions to see if it meets our criteria.

Are you mad?

Yes, of course I am. No sane person would care nearly enough to try this!

Whilst we are as independent as an independent thing that's strutting out on its own, we still enjoy other things on the internet and we feel that these sites deserve your attention. (In our humble opinions of course.)

We spend a fair bit of time browsing them, so they're not just idle "be my affiliate" links. In fact, the sites we link to probably (at this stage) don't even know that we're linking to them yet.

One thing they all have in common is their independent status on the internet, which in an age where so many sites want a piece of some other sites success is fantastic in itself. Go on, give them some of your time. It won't hurt and you may just find yourself enjoying what you read.

Here at Bag Full Of Wrong, we love the Retro Remakes guys and gals with our heartses. Surprisingly really, considering this site was set up by remakers... :/

Rewind is the excellent independent magazine for Remakers, featuring some lovely retro related articles, reviews of Remakes both homebrew and commercial and much more.

Way of the Rodent, is, as the tag line reads - the original spirit of video gaming. Arguably some of the most consistently readable articles on the internet and we at Bag Full of Wrong approve.
